MURAL DC
Dominic Painter, a Mural DC representative, revealed to the community that a new mural will be painted along Columbia Rd. on the Bruce Monroe Site in the month of August. Mural DC will be working along with Woodrow Wilson High School, Latin American Youth Center (LAYC), and local artists to keep hold of their mission to teach proper art techniques and a legal means to practice and perform their skill in a way that promotes respect for public and private property as opposed to graffiti.
However, Mural DC wants to avoid a problem that has occurred in the past. They do not want to create a mural a community will protest to have removed. To ensure this does not happen Mural DC wants the community to send in suggestions as to what to paint and ensure the design selected expresses the community.
